Visit San Juan La Laguna and experience it's stunning beauty while observing the obvious differences between your standard of living and that of the locals. Observe the joy and community present in our neighbourhood and leave with a renewed sense of gratitude. This trip is all about contrasts. We finish off the adventure with an incredible overnight hike up the infamous Acatenango Volcano to stay in a cabin and watch the neighbouring Volcano Fuego erupt through the night.

In past years, we have shut down for the month of May as a measure of caution to avoid rain from interfering with family hub scheduled activities. As it were, the last two years have been unusually dry in San Juan.
We are always looking to give back to the local community. Keeping our full-time staff employed throughout the month is also a priority. In that spirit, we are planning three weekend retreats for local mothers that we support in the community, free of charge.
These women work hard, are of scarce resources, and would otherwise not have the opportunity to pamper themselves in this way.
Culture Chalk is matching donations dollar-for-dollar to see this through! Sponsor a local Guatemalan mother, and receive updates of these women enjoying some much-deserved relaxation!

A truly incredible program designed to turn the villages of San Juan and San Pedro La Laguna into a campus of its own.
