Escape to the laid-back coastal paradise of El Zonte for an unforgettable 6-night family experience. Nestled along El Salvador’s stunning Pacific coastline, this trip blends adventure, culture, community initiatives, and relaxation in a way that both kids and parents will love. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the warmth of the community and the slow rhythm of beach life.
Widows in the Wild
Culture Chalk Beach Trip, 2027!
El Salvador edition.

Each day brings a new adventure, starting with guided surfing lessons on El Zonte’s beautiful waves. Whether your child is stepping on a board for the first time or building confidence in the water, the local and experienced instructors make it fun, safe, and incredibly rewarding for all levels.

Beyond the beach, widows and children will explore El Salvador's landscape on a guided hike to the breathtaking Tamanique Waterfall. This journey offers a perfect mix of nature, exploration, and connection; ending with an awesome swim in one of the region’s most beautiful natural settings!

As with all Culture Chalk programs, we aim to give back to the communities we visit. Discover what daily life looks like for Salvadoran children with us as we take some time out of the program to visit a local school to deliver gift bags to the young students. Families are encouraged to bring kids' toothpastes, toothbrushes, socks, underwear, soaps and some fun little toys, art supplies or colouring books to include in the gift bags we deliver. During our presentation to the school, we will give a speech on good hygiene practices, dental care, and introduce your children to the local kids to participate in colouring, arts and crafts.
These are eye-opening opportunities we love sharing with guest families and their children.
